March 2, 2005
1:00-4:00pm
Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal
(Faculty Center), UP Diliman
Rationale
The University of the Philippines HARONG, a duly recognized socio-civic
organization of students from the Province of Camarines Sur and the
Cities of Naga and Iriga, is committed to serve Camarines Sur, the
University and the country. With the UP Harong Acadfest already instituted
for Camarines Sur high school students, the Organization has also come
up with a major activity for UP Diliman.
This newly initiated event called the HARONG NIN DUNONG QUIZ primarily
aims to gather Iskolars ng Bayan for a friendly and interactive quiz-game
contest that gives ample emphasis on Philippine and UP cultures. The
contest further hopes to help promote, build, and maintain a culture
of academic excellence among UP organizations and students in general.
Students from different regions and ideals would converge for one good
fight. Finally, the HARONG NIN DUNONG QUIZ: TAGISAN SA DILIMAN is established
to recognize and popularize the nature of UP Diliman as the harong
nin dunong—home of wisdom—in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia.
