CONTEST GUIDELINES
Qualifications for participating schools
- Any sophomore, junior or senior of any high school in Camarines
Sur and Naga City
- Must adhere to the mechanics of the contest
- Must send the reply letter to

Mechanics of the Contest:
- The contest is open to all secondary schools in the Province of
Camarines Sur and the Cities of Naga and Iriga. Each school is allowed
to field at most two (2) contestants.
- The theme of this year’s essay writing contest will be “Kulturang
Bikolnon: Ipadagos asin Pagyamanon.”
- The MAIN TOPIC will be given during the first day of the Acadfest.
- Upon learning the topic, the contestants shall be allowed to write
their essays in any place, including their very own homes. They are
also allowed to consult their coaches for grammar.
- All essays must be written on an 8” x 11” bond paper (to be provided
by the organizers). They must be at least two (2) pages but no more
than four (4), thus about 500-1000 words in length.
- Deadline for submission of entries will be twenty-four (24) hours
after the topic has been given.
- The Board of Judges for this event will be composed of a UP Harong
officer, a UP Harong alumnus and a representative from our co-presenter(s).
ALL DECISIONS OF THE BOARD OF JUDGES ARE FINAL AND IRREVOCABLE. It
is not subject to appeal.
- The judges will determine the winners based on the following criteria:
