3rd UP HARONG Quiz Wits Competition
Qualifications for participating schools
- Any team composed of a sophomore, junior or senior of a high school
in Camarines Sur and Naga City
- Must adhere to the mechanics of the contest

Mechanics of the Contest:
- The contest is open to all secondary schools in the Province of
Camarines Sur and the Cities of Naga and Iriga. Each school is allowed
to field only one team of three members.
- There shall be three rounds: EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT.
- Each round shall be composed of fifteen (15) questions under the
following categories: Science, Mathematics, Information and Communications
Technology, Bicol History and Culture, Economics, Current Events,
Philippine History and Culture, Arts and Humanities, Geography, Language
(English/ Filipino), Sports and Leisure, and Pop Culture.
- During the EASY ROUND, each question shall be read twice by the
Quiz Master(s), after which the participating teams shall be given
ten (10) seconds to answer the question. Math problems however shall
be solved within twenty (20) seconds.
- During the AVERAGE ROUND, each question shall be read twice by the
Quiz Master(s), after which the participating teams shall be given
fifteen (15) seconds to answer the question. Math problems however
shall be solved within twenty (30) seconds.
- During the DIFFICULT ROUND, each question shall be read twice by
the Quiz Master(s), after which the participating teams shall be given
twenty (20) seconds to answer the question. Math problems however
shall be solved within sixty (60) seconds.
- Answers shall be written on an illustration board which shall be
provided by the organizers.
- The last question for each round shall be allotted for the audience.
Each school shall be given a piece of paper where its students can
write the answer to the question. The school who gets the correct
answer earns a corresponding point for its team.
- Each correct answer in the EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT Rounds shall
earn the team 10, 15, and 20 points, respectively.
- UP Harong members shall assist and supervise the participating teams.
- The highest scoring team shall be declared Champion of the competition.
The second and third highest scoring teams shall be declared runners-up.
