HOW TO JOIN

Download the APPLICATION FORM and fill it up. Submit the form personally to the U.P. HARONG Tambayan at the back of Office of Student Activities, Vinzons Hall Annex, UP Diliman, Quezon City not later than August 6, 2004.

Qualifications and the Application Process:

The following is an excerpt of Article 3 of the U.P. Harong Constitution and Bylaws.

Section 1. To qualify for membership, one must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be bona fide undergraduate and graduate students of the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
2. Applicants must be able to understand and/or speak the Bicol language.
3. Applicants must be willing to abide by the Constitution and Bylaws of the Organization.
4. Applicants must not have been subjected to any disciplinary action under the existing University rules.
5. Applicants must be or had been a resident of Camarines Sur or the Cities of Naga or Iriga.
6. If Article 3, Section 1B is not satisfied, applicants must at least be willing to learn the Bicol language.
7. If Article 3, Section 1E is not satisfied, applicants must at least have an ancestor who is or had been a resident of Camarines Sur.

Section 2. Requisites for Membership:

1. Applicants must undergo formal procedures in order to:
   1. Familiarize themselves with the Organization and
   2. Gauge their willingness to commit themselves to the Organization.
2. Applicants must participate in the activities of the Organization.
3. Applicants shall become members upon
1. The deliberation on their performance by the Executive Committee;
2. Paying the required application fee of fifty pesos (Php 50.00), unless otherwise decided upon by the Executive Committee, and
3. Completion of the requirements. The nature of which shall be decided upon by the Membership Committee and to be approved by the Executive Committee.
4. Application for the Organization shall be open once every semester, unless otherwise decided upon by the Executive Committee.
